Thomas was reading a book "Heaven" and was impressed with a quote from D. L. Moody that said. "When you read my obituary in the paper....don't believe it for a second because i am more alive now than i have ever been."

Thomas is home now where he belongs and longed for. he did not want to leave us but was not afraid to go.

to everyone who loved thomas, please be comforted by knowing he is safe and secure and knows what we only hope for.

we love him so much.

  1. Amen and Amen.
I cried quite a few tears this morning as I flew from Chicago back to Atlanta. I always try to sit in a window seat facing the sun. There was a big storm in Chicago but as we burst through the grey clouds into blue skies and a fiery orange sunrise, I couldn't help but think, "I bet Tom saw these clouds as the angels escorted him to meet Jesus early this morning!" ...Who knows. But it made me smile and cry.

Please remember that you all are dearly loved.

  2. Patty,
I have been so moved and impressed with your faith and strength throughout this journey also. While Tom's faith was unshakable and incredible, yours my friend was nothing short of inspiring. You are an amazing Christian woman. Here you are encouraging others to not be discouraged or saddened for long. There is joy knowing he is with Jesus. The Jackson's are saddened for Tia, Nate and your loss but happy for Heaven's gain. He knew you all loved him sooo much. You are being lifted up in prayer, giving you strength in the coming difficult days. You are and will continue to be an amazing family.
    Your friend,
    Teresa

  4. Pain is a language
    without words...
    and so it is untouched
    by words...

    Does it help to know
    that my prayers for you
    are often wordless too?

    And shaped like tears.

  5. I know time and miles and experience has put a great divide between us, but I'll always be thankful for the chance I had to work with Tom.
He gave me a full time job right out of high school... and never stopped encouraging me to chase after a college education. I remember that summer on the job when I fell into the chimney and ended up with 5 staples in my head. He had great concern for my well being... and after recovery, never had a problem reminding me in a joking way to be careful. Thank you for giving a "don't know where I'm going" high school graduate in 1992 direction.
